What to do here
This is the City of Burnaby Community Animal Centre, operated by the BC SPCA under an arrangement with the city. An animal brought in by Burnaby animal control is reclaimed here, on proof of ownership and payment of any fees.
The pickup side is the city’s: to report a stray or ask for help with one, call the City of Burnaby Animal Control Office on 604-294-7944, available 9am–5pm seven days a week. Outside those hours the city directs callers to the Burnaby RCMP non-emergency line, 604-646-9999.
The Burnaby centre has moved. Its own page states the Norland Avenue site is closed while the City of Burnaby demolishes and rebuilds it, and that a temporary facility on Laurel Street has served the public since 27 May 2026. The phone number is unchanged — call before travelling.

One organisation is never the whole search
A pet is found by whoever happens to be nearby, so the shelter, the city, the registry and the local search groups each hold a different piece. Work the list rather than one entry on it.
