Privacy policy

There are only two places this site takes information from you, and both are optional.

• The correction form. If you send a correction, we receive what you type into it. The email field is optional and is used only to ask a follow up question about your correction. We do not add it to a mailing list.
• Standard server logs. Like nearly every website, the hosting server records requests, which includes IP addresses. These are used to keep the site running and secure.

We do not ask you to create an account, and there is nothing on this site that requires you to identify yourself in order to read it.

When you tick items on the lost pet checklist, that progress is saved using your browser’s local storage. It stays on the device you are using and is never sent to us or to anyone else.

Nobody can see which items you have ticked, and clearing your browser data removes it entirely.

• We do not sell or rent your information
• We do not run advertising on this site
• We do not use third party analytics or tracking pixels
• We do not require an account to read anything here

If any of this changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live, and the date below will change with it.

If you have sent a correction and want the message or your email address deleted, ask and we will remove it. Send the request through the correction form and describe which submission you mean.

Canadian privacy law gives you the right to ask what personal information an organisation holds about you and to have inaccurate information corrected. Those requests are welcome here.
