What to do here
For a missing cat in Vancouver this is the right place to ask: the City of Vancouver’s own lost-pets page asks residents to contact the BC SPCA about a stray cat, and the city shelter states it does not accept cats.
For a missing dog, call City of Vancouver Animal Services on 604-873-7000 first. A dog picked up loose in the city is held at the Vancouver Animal Shelter on Raymur Avenue, not here.
This centre also handles surrenders, adoptions and cruelty concerns, and the BC SPCA runs the BC Pet Registry — worth checking your microchip record is current at the same time.

One organisation is never the whole search
A pet is found by whoever happens to be nearby, so the shelter, the city, the registry and the local search groups each hold a different piece. Work the list rather than one entry on it.
