What to do here

The centre states that redemption itself is arranged through 311, not with the centre directly, and that Animal Services will notify you if your pet has been brought here. Bring photo identification showing your current address, and expect a boarding fee, an impound fee and a licence fee if the dog has no current licence.

Its published redemption hours are 8:00am to 6:00pm, seven days a week, and it states that animals not claimed within 72 business hours are assessed for adoption — so the first three days are the ones that matter.

Compiled from the centre's own page on the Nova Scotia SPCA site 4 October 2026. Last checked 4 October 2026. Details change without notice — confirm anything you are about to rely on.

One organisation is never the whole search

A pet is found by whoever happens to be nearby, so the shelter, the city, the registry and the local search groups each hold a different piece. Work the list rather than one entry on it.
