What to do here
Delta runs its shelter directly rather than contracting it out, so a found animal from anywhere in Delta is held here rather than at a Lower Mainland SPCA branch. The city asks that found animals be reported by phone, email or its mobile app.
That includes North Delta, Ladner and Tsawwassen — all three are in the City of Delta, so start here rather than with a Surrey organisation.
The shelter line is 604-940-7111, with 604-946-4141 ext. 2 after hours. The city and the shelter do not respond after hours to calls about a healthy stray; for an after-hours animal that is aggressive, sick or injured, Delta Police is the route.

One organisation is never the whole search
A pet is found by whoever happens to be nearby, so the shelter, the city, the registry and the local search groups each hold a different piece. Work the list rather than one entry on it.
