City of Burnaby Animal Control Office
Burnaby splits the job: the City's own animal control office takes the call and does the pickup, seven days a week, while the animal is reclaimed at the City's Community Animal Centre, which the BC SPCA operates.

What to do here
Start with the City on 604-294-7944. Burnaby's animal control office handles assistance with stray animals along with dog bites, barking complaints and minor welfare concerns, and the City says the office takes calls seven days a week from 9am to 5pm. Outside those hours it directs callers to the Burnaby RCMP non-emergency line, 604-646-9999.
Then ask where the animal is being held, because pickup and impound are different organisations here. The City states that to collect an animal brought in by animal control you visit the BC SPCA Burnaby animal centre with proof of ownership and any applicable fees — that centre is the City of Burnaby Community Animal Centre, operated by the BC SPCA on the City's behalf, and the City has it temporarily located at 6229 Laurel Street.
Confirm the reclaim hours on the phone before you drive over: the City publishes one set of opening hours for the temporary Laurel Street location and a different set for animal pickup, so this is a call-ahead rather than a turn-up.

One organisation is never the whole search
A pet is found by whoever happens to be nearby, so the shelter, the city, the registry and the local search groups each hold a different piece. Work the list rather than one entry on it.
