Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue

The shelter that enforces Saint John’s dog-control by-law — taking lost-pet reports online and by phone, with animal emergencies answered around the clock.

What to do here

Submit the online lost-pet report or call as soon as you can — the report is what lets them match your pet if it is brought in. Animal emergencies are handled 24/7 through their welfare contact; the office itself is open Wednesday to Saturday. Dog licences for the city are sold here too.

Compiled from the shelter's and the city's own pages 1 September 2026. Last checked 1 September 2026. Details change without notice — confirm anything you are about to rely on.

One organisation is never the whole search

A pet is found by whoever happens to be nearby, so the shelter, the city, the registry and the local search groups each hold a different piece. Work the list rather than one entry on it.
