Ontario SPCA Greater Sudbury Animal Centre

This is the Ontario SPCA’s animal centre at 21 Lasalle Blvd, on the Collège Boréal campus. It is a registered charity doing adoptions, surrenders and community support work. It is not Greater Sudbury’s municipal shelter and not its animal control service.

If your pet went missing in Greater Sudbury, the City is the first call. The Greater Sudbury Animal Shelter takes in dogs and cats found injured, abandoned or roaming at large — 705-694-7387. To report an animal roaming at large, dial 311, which also reaches By-law Compliance and Enforcement; after hours, call 311 and press 6.

The city shelter is at a temporary address: it moved to the former Copper Cliff Fire Hall at 35 Godfrey Drive, Copper Cliff, on 31 July 2026 while a permanent shelter is built. Phone before you travel.

This centre’s own FAQ makes the same point: if you find a stray animal, contact the municipality’s animal control services first, and it accepts strays only from areas without municipal coverage. Greater Sudbury has municipal coverage. The Ontario SPCA provincial number is 1-833-926-4625.
