What to do here
This society is contracted by a number of cities and municipalities to provide animal by-law, animal control and sheltering services, and it publishes that contract municipality by municipality — which is why a stray from Kitchener really does arrive here.
The Kitchener contract covers stray dogs and dogs at large, stray cats where confined, injured domestic animals and wildlife, after-hours emergencies for injured animals, sheltering, dog licensing and dog bite reports. Note the limit on cats: a loose cat is only in scope once someone has confined it. Cat licensing is not in the Kitchener contract.
The society publishes two numbers — the Kitchener Waterloo line shown here and a Stratford Perth line, 519-273-6600. Use the one nearest where your pet went missing. Barking dogs are a noise matter handled by municipal by-law enforcement, not here.
Cambridge is in the same region but runs its own animal control, so if your pet went missing there call the City of Cambridge instead.

One organisation is never the whole search
A pet is found by whoever happens to be nearby, so the shelter, the city, the registry and the local search groups each hold a different piece. Work the list rather than one entry on it.
