What to do here
Call dispatch to report a lost dog, or go to the Municipal Pound at 882 Alloy Place off Central Avenue to claim one. The city states the pound office is open Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm, that officers respond to calls seven days a week, and that calls after hours go to a 24-hour answering service for follow-up by the next available officer.
Two things the city is explicit about: stray dogs are held for a minimum of three working days, and stray cats are not held here at all — they go to the humane society on Rosslyn Road. If you have lost a cat, call both.

One organisation is never the whole search
A pet is found by whoever happens to be nearby, so the shelter, the city, the registry and the local search groups each hold a different piece. Work the list rather than one entry on it.
